梨山In the 1960s, the completion of the Central Cross-Island Highway connecting Taichung to Taroko marked a significant milestone in Taiwan's tourism history.

Lishan Guesthouse, located at an elevation of 1,956 meters, features distinct Chinese palace architecture with a gable and hip roof. It served as an important reception venue for foreign guests and is a renowned historic landmark. Lishan offers unique charms in every season. In spring, Fushoushan Farm is in full bloom with cherry blossoms, while autumn paints the mountains red with maple leaves. Local specialties such as cabbage, peaches, honey apples, and pears all enjoy a well-deserved reputation.

In Lishan, you can explore the natural lifestyles of the indigenous Atayal tribe. The ecological trail within Lishan Guesthouse connects to the winding Siliq Trail, culminating in the Lokah Warriors Camp, a traditional ceremonial site for the tribal residents. Siliq, in the Atayal language, means a bird associated with divination and refers to the endemic Taiwan Blue Magpie. The trail features two suspension bridges, enhancing the sense of natural adventure. The observation tower offers panoramic views of Lishan and the Dajia River, and the return journey can be made via a branch trail, where you will encounter the Atayal ancestral stone piles.
