Tri-Mountain National Scenic Area Headquarters

To celebrate the festive season, the Tri-Mountain National Scenic Area Headquarters, Tourism Administration, MOTC, presents the 5th annual “2025 Lishan–Guguan Light Art Festival.” The festival runs from November 29, 2025, to January 25, 2026, at the Lishan Scenic Area, featuring dazzling light displays across Guguan and Lishan. Guguan's light displays will be held from November 29, 2025, to January 11, 2026, while Lishan's will run from December 21, 2025, to January 25, 2026.
In Guguan, key locations like Guguan Park, the Guguan Visitor Center and nearby walkways, and the Guguan Archway will be adorned with striking light installations. In Lishan, the lighting design spotlights two historically significant cedar trees in front of the Lishan Guest House—transformed into Taiwan’s tallest Christmas trees, affectionately called the “Christmas Trees above the Clouds.” These majestic trees, rising about 28 meters at an elevation of 1,956 meters, light up the mountain skyline. Additional illuminations will enhance the Lishan Visitor Center and the Lishan Observation Deck, creating an enchanting alpine atmosphere. Together, the illuminated landscapes of Lishan and Guguan promise a season of light, warmth, and mountain charm, inviting both local and international visitors to experience this festive spectacle.

(A music and light show runs every 30minutes, On New Year’s Eve (December 31), lighting hours are extended until 00:30 a.m. on January 1.

Light Area & Transportation Information:
The Guguan–Lishan section of Provincial Highway No. 8 (Central Cross-Island Highway) is currently under traffic control, and private vehicles cannot travel directly between the two locations. Visitors can instead reserve a ride on the Fengyuan Bus Route 865, which operates on a scheduled service between Guguan and Lishan.
