“Water, water, watery wine,” oops! In addition to the Formosan yuhina, also known as the “spitting rice wine” bird, who also likes to drink wine? Listen and have a look; it turns out to be the white-browed holy bird - the White-eared sibia!
The White-eared sibia is an endemic bird of Taiwan. Its major characteristic is that it has a white band from the base of the mouth to the back of the ear on both sides of the face. Its body length is about 24 cm, and its wing length is 10-11 cm. The Male and female have the same feather color, with a blue-black and lustrous head, and gray-black parts from the hindneck to the back and from the throat to the upper chest. Inhabiting broad-leaved forests or coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forests at an altitude of 1000 - 2400 meters above sea level, they often fly in groups in the middle and upper layers of woods.
The White-eared sibia is also a member of the thrush family with a beautiful voice. Its loud chirping always reverberates in mist-shrouded forests at the middle and high altitudes making people feel refreshed and pleasant, and enabling them to leisurely enjoy the beauty of nature.
