Taiwan blue magpie側拍Ecology and habits:
Highly , the Taiwan blue magpie is an omnivore. They always fly in groups in a straight line, constituting magnificent views. They mainly feed on seeds, fruits and insects.

From April to August every year, it is their breeding season. They build nests on horizontal branches on top of canopies. Built with twigs, thin rattans and grasses into a shallow-plate shape, in each nest, 4-6 eggs are hatched. Normally, hatching and brooding are conducted by parent birds, as well as other members. This phenomenon is an incredibly special helper system among birds.

Distribution of habitat: The Taiwan blue magpie is an endemic species in Taiwan. It mainly lives in broadleaf forests and secondary forests at mid and low altitudes above sea level. They tend to build nests on high branches distributed at the altitude of 100 to 1200m above sea-level.

Problems encountered include human hunting, interruption, and damage to their habitats. In addition, due to the development of leisure activities in broadleaf forests and secondary forests at mid and low altitudes above sea level, their habitats are being reduced. As a result, their population is decreasing as well.
