Red-bellied squirrel is the most common rodent in mountain forests. Its body length is about 18-24 cm, and its tail length is about 18-20 cm. Its belly and inner sides of the four limbs are reddish, and its tail hair is fluffy, which is obviously black-brown with white hair. Widely distributed, it often runs and jumps in the woods during the day. It is very lively and active by nature; it likes to eat plant seeds and fruits, and it is the largest of three main squirrel species in Taiwan.
