The Hunter Trail, located next to the Sqoyaw Tribal Village of Lishan, is an ancient hunting trail of the Atayal. In the past, some roads collapsed and were closed for years. Now, after renovation, it has become a hiking trail that allows for a deep experience of tribal culture.
A trail built according to tribal culture and natural engineering methods.
To ensure a safer hiking environment, the trail renovation replaced the collapsed path with stairs and slope barriers using local materials and improved more challenging sections with environmentally friendly methods. A new rope bridge, which previously required wading, has been built across the river, allowing all visitors to enjoy the natural atmosphere with peace of mind.
Experience the precious culture of the Atayal tribe.
Since the Hunter Trail was once a hunting route for the local tribe, it has established numerous rest areas along the trail incorporating Atayal elements at the suggestion of the grand elders of the Sqoyaw Tribal Village. These include a prayer area crafted from logs and tribal totems, a semi-cave dwelling complex constructed entirely of wood, a hunter's ladder classroom, and a hunter archery arena, which allow visitors to understand tribal culture better.
