This old camphor tree is the only precious old tree left. Given that camphor trees can be used to make camphor and camphor oil and bring in foreign investment, it was one of the major exporting products of Taiwan in early times. Also, they are great scenic trees and street trees. Nowadays, there are still many camphor trees remaining on Bagua Mountain. Near the Old Mother-Daughter Camphor Trees is a Plumeria introduced by the Dutch people, which is more than 400 years old. It has an oddly shaped trunk that resembles bending deer antlers, while its flowers distribute pleasant fragrance.

There is also a local poem talking about this Plumeria: Plumeria planted in a foreign land. It arrived in Taiwan with a trunk like deer antlers. Oval leaves sprout from the tip of its branches. Yellow flowers disseminated mild fragrance. The camphor tree at Fengshan remains while people have turned into white bones. Peoples of the Lan family get along well with red-haired foreigners.
