Sky Pond is at the highest point of Fushoushan Farm, on the top of the mountain close to the sky, so it is called Sky Pond. In the early days, the springs went straight to the ground and never dried up all year round. The strata and springs shifted after the 921 Earthquake, which now relies on natural rainwater accumulation. Tall trees such as cypress, pine, and fir are around Skypond. When the weather is clear, they are reflected on the mirror-like lake surface, accompanied by the beautiful legend that "circling three times for each side can make your wish come true."
The former Presidential Residence is a summer resort and scenic spot.
You can see a green two-story building standing by the pool. That is the "Daguan Pavilion." It was the residence where Chiang Kai-shek used to work during the summer. The former President Chiang Kai-shek would come here to cultivate his mind and think about state affairs. Daguan Pavilion retains some of its past displays. The first floor is a study and temporary restroom, a porch, a courtyard, and a guard communication room. Today, they have transformed the study into a field history museum, where you can see old black-and-white photos of Chiang Kai-shek and his wife taking a summer vacation here. The second floor has a viewing balcony and a meeting room. The light is bright, and even if you sit indoors, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery outside through the large French windows on all four sides. Allegedly, the president decided many significant events here that affected the fate of Taiwan.
The Sky Pond Cafe has tea eggs and a coffee aroma.
On the side of the entrance of the Daguan Pavilion is the Sky Pond Cafe, which smells of tea eggs. Besides coffee, many kinds of tea and souvenirs are on display. Many tourists will buy coffee, tea, eggs, or snacks to rest by the pond and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the mountain pond.
