There are two significant conditions for forming cold springs: abundant groundwater resources and rock formations that produce large amounts of carbon dioxide. The formation conditions are stringent, so very few countries have cold springs, and Beipu Cold Spring is one of them.

The light-yellow spring water is the product of carbonic acid and sulfur coexisting in the spring.
Generally, when you first see the yellow-brown spring water, you will intuitively think it is not clean. Beipu Cold Spring is a very rare carbonic acid and sulfur coexisting spring, which is salty, and this is also the reason why the spring water is yellow. Its water temperature is between 10 and 20 degrees all year round, which is very comfortable. The park has suspension bridges, pavilions, a foot bath pool, and two deep and shallow spring pools. Overlooking the beautiful scenery from the suspension bridge is also an excellent choice to relax your body and mind.

Daping River Sand-blocking Dam is like a cool and refreshing water curtain. 
The Daping River Sand-blocking Dam in front is a famous landmark. The water on the dam is pouring down, and the water vapor is spreading among the boulders in the valley, which is very majestic. In the summer, the cool spring water always attracts many tourists to come and play in the water to cool off. People developed the Beipu area later, so it has retained a relatively primitive and rich natural landscape, and the number of fireflies is relatively large. From late April to May every year, the Beipu Cold Spring is also a secret place to watch fireflies.

Walking into the time tunnel, Beipu Old Street, is where gourmets must visit.
Beipu Old Street is one of Taiwan's oldest streets, with the highest density of historical sites and buildings. For example, Chiang A-Hsin Ancient House and Jin Guang Fu Hall are well preserved. Visiting these ancient buildings is like walking into a time tunnel, where you can learn about the rich local history. Besides experiencing the different settlement culture styles, you can't miss tasting authentic traditional food, such as dried persimmon and handmade pounded tea, which always attracts many gourmets during holidays!
