The Kahkahoe’an community is a Say-Siyat village of about 20 households. Looking southwards, eight mountaintops can be seen, thus gaining the name “Hakaliki” in the Japanese Colonial Era, meaning “8 mountains.”

After the restoration of Taiwan, the tribe gained its present name due to similar pronunciation. At Kahkahoe’an Cultural Area, besides enjoying the authentic singing and dancing of the Say-Siyat people, visitors can also find restaurants, hostels, and an exhibition center that showcases Say-Siyat arts and crafts. This is a must see if you want to experience the authentic culture of the aboriginal people!
