In the spring of 2021, the Guguan Visitor Center was renovated and re-operated as a local micro-museum to welcome tourists.

The center is expected to serve as the ideal sightseeing station and starting point for visitors to explore Guguan and its hot springs and learn about the place before exploring.

It is designed to provide a step-by-step introduction to the history, geography, and ecological resources of Guguan along the Central Cross-Island Highway before walking on the Solaiy Trail.

The new index and design creation resulted in a natural guided tour area that activated the experiential journey by giving tourists an actual sensation when they entered Guguan, walking into the forests, mountains, and springs.Guguan Visitor Center(Guguan Museum)外部
B1 Illustration of Birds
The birds commonly seen in Guguan are mostly representative species at low and intermediate altitudes in Taiwan, including resident birds and those that only appear in specific seasons. Due to the location near the Dajia River, there are also stream birds here.

The variety of birds in the forest provides a massive source of food and a safe and secluded habitat. We highly recommend visiting  Guguan for bird watching every winter through next spring. The continuous chirping of birds from different corners of the mountains reveals that they are flying freely throughout the area and enjoying their lives here.

B2 Plant Exhibition and Outdoor Amenities
The rich natural diversity observed in Guguan is presented in nine chapters. The varying altitudes in Guguan blend the colors of the forest landscapes.

When walking in the mountains, you can see those common plants and foresee the mixed coniferous and broadleaf forests in the high mountains. You can also find the common rhododendron, Taiwan short-leaf pine that grows in rough topography, Taiwan red pine that grows in the flat topography and looks tall, and moss and fern that grow on the ground.Guguan Visitor Center(Guguan Museum)蛾類

In terms of the outdoor area, the great shade under the trees provides a good place for chatting, resting, or having a picnic! Additionally, various activities are held irregularly at the square, such as singing or dancing performances.
The open-air foot bathing pool is one of the highlights in the Guguan Visitor Center. Unlike other visitor centers, visitors can sit by the pool, take off their shoes, and enjoy foot bathing here.
