Changhua has "three treasures”- meat dumplings, stewed meat rice, and cat-n’-rat noodles. Fenyuan Fengkeng is endowed with abundant sunlight, wind, and sweet water, so the rice noodles produced here are more hydrated and has a bouncy texture. Yunlin’s topography is characterized by low hill lands, which provide favorable criteria for fruit production. The excess fruits are made into pickled delights sold nationwide.
The Jufeng Grape is a special product of Dacun. The sweet and juicy taste makes the Jufeng Grape famous nationwide. Huatan has the largest production of jasmine flowers; they are manufactured into aroma teas and an array of other products. Yuanlin’s juicy star fruit is a sumptuous temptation. Shetou’s guava is characteristically crunchy; the wind of a north-eastern monsoon in the autumn and winter makes Shetou’s guava even sweeter and juicier.
This is a special product of the Ershuei area. Taken from the Luosi, this is a hard, fine grained stone that holds water without drying out, which allows excellent ink grinding, inhibits ink caking, and cleans easily. It is considered to be one of the best quality ink stone materials and comes in many colors, with deep red being the rarest and most valuable. Because of the popularity of collecting ink stones, the decorative carvings of ink stones became a recognized and distinguished art itself pursued by artists and craftsmen throughout the Ershuei area.
Songboling is famous for its high quality tea leaves and has the highest production of tea in Taiwan. The tea here was named “Longevity Tea” by the late President Chiang Ching-Kuo.
