This is a special product of the Ershuei area. Taken from the Lo River, this is a hard, fine grained kind of stone that holds water without drying out, allows excellent grinding of ink, inhibits freezing and cleans easily. It is considered to be one of the best quality inkstone materials and comes in many colors, with deep red being the rarest and most valuable. Because of the popularity of collecting inkstones, the decorative carvings of an inkstone became a recognized and distinguished art itself pursued by artists and craftsmen throughout Ershuei area.
Songbo Evergreen Tea
Songboling is famous for its high quality tea leaves and has the highest production of tea in Taiwan. The tea here was named “Longevity Tea” by the late President Chiang Ching Kuo.
