Every year in spring, when the migrating Gray-faced Buzzard Hawks fly into Mt.Bagua Scenic Area, hawk watching becomes a favorite tourist activity and an annual event for bird-watchers. The Mt.Bagua bike ride through mountain forests is another popular leisure activity for bikers. The Songboling tea festival gives tourists an opportunity to experience the exquisite taste of the famous the Songboling Evergreen Tea. The purpose of these events is to promote the variety of natural and ecological resources as well as the local products available at Mt.Bagua .

Biking along Scenic Route 139, which stretches about 32 km along the Mt.Bagua ridgeline, you have beautiful panoramic views of the Changhua plain, the Taichung basin, an endless succession of peaks and ridges, and sunset over the Taiwan Straits. The Evergreen Path reaches about 15 km along the border between Tianjhong and Shetou, taking you through mountain forests with rich ecological resources. The Ershuei Tourist Bicycle Path follows the Jiji branch railway line, with auxiliary routes reaching in all directions. As you bike along you will catch the scent of paddy fields, flowers, and fruits everywhere. Along the way, you can also visit old houses in nearby villages.
