Zhonggang Creek twists and turns into three large bends at this place and this is how Sanwan (three bends) got its name. 

The southern side of the township is shielded by Shenzhuoshan, which is adorned by thick osmanthus woods.  The smooth ridge line stretches all the way to Xianshan and draws a block of green shield against the skyline.  The remote serenity makes this mountain range seem like a paradise traversed by fairies, so this place is also known as the “Fairies Crossing”.
